Join our team as an Event Manager!

If you are organised, proactive and passionate about independent cinema, ÉCU is offering an exciting opportunity that may interest you.

For the last 19 years, we at ÉCU have created an innovative and successful event that has brought together filmmakers from all over the world. We pride ourselves in building a festival that attracts and showcases diverse and unique projects, giving a platform to independent talent. If you are curious about the behind-the-scenes of one of the largest independent film festivals in Europe, then consider joining our team!

Every year ÉCU offers unpaid internships to creative and talented individuals who are willing to work hard and have fun! It is an exciting way to observe the industry at close hand and learn directly from people who are working within it.

The festival in April is our biggest event, but we promote the festival all-year around. Besides dealing with preparations for the festival, our event management interns need to find or create real life events to promote ÉCU. This includes events in Paris, but also abroad (e.g. our ÉCU On-The-Road tour). The intern will have to look for and outreach to different entities (schools, cultural centers, bars, festivals, etc.) in order to organize these events. The intern will learn how to organize an event, including location scouting, outreaching to partners, outreaching to filmmakers, etc. They will develop their critical thinking skills, learn how to respond in case of unpredictable setbacks (there are always some during a live event!) and will also work within an international team.

The intern should speak English at a minimum B1 level - French is not required but appreciated. All other language skills are welcome!

What we offer:

  • The opportunity to work within an international team (alongside interns from Australia, Italy, Portugal, México, the UK, USA, Ukraine, and many more…)
  • 35 hours working week, from 09:45 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
  • Workspace in central Paris, located close to the Arc de Triomphe
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation of your performance
  • The chance to learn from your peers and direct supervisor
  • The chance to develop and enrich your creativity
  • Opportunities to attend events connected to filmmaking
  • Meet people who work in the film industry (directors, sound editors, producers, filmmakers…)
  • A safe space for improving your skills and learning new ones
  • Performance based references.

 We do NOT offer:

  • Monetary remuneration
  • Accommodation
  • Coverage on transport or food expenses
  • Obtaining visas or other travel documents.

If you are willing to work hard, learn new skills and meet new people - all while having fun -consider sending your CV and a short Motivational Letter to: [email protected]. Working remotely full time is possible in some cases, and our working hours are flexible. However, we ask for solid commitment and good communication with the supervisors to build a strong team.
