Description: 

As a Facilities Management Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the maintenance and improvement of our organization's building. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in facilities management, contributing to the creation of a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Responsibilities:
- Repairs and Maintenance: Assist in conducting routine inspections of the building to identify maintenance needs. You will collaborate with our facilities management team to address repairs promptly and efficiently. This may include tasks such as fixing minor plumbing or electrical issues, repairing damaged furniture or fixtures, and ensuring general upkeep of the building.

- Renovations and Improvements: Support ongoing renovation projects by assisting in project planning, coordination, and implementation. You may be involved in tasks such as sourcing materials, coordinating with contractors and suppliers, and overseeing the progress of renovations. Your contributions will help enhance the functionality, accessibility, and aesthetics of our building.

- Safety and Compliance: Collaborate with the facilities management team to ensure compliance with safety regulations and codes. This may involve conducting safety inspections, maintaining fire safety equipment, and implementing necessary measures to create a secure environment for everyone. You will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

- Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Work closely with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate services, schedule maintenance activities, and ensure timely completion of projects. You will communicate effectively with external partners, obtain competitive bids, and negotiate contracts to optimize the organization's resources.

- Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the organization's sustainability efforts by identifying and implementing environmentally friendly practices within the building. This may include exploring energy-efficient options, waste management strategies, or utilizing sustainable materials in renovations and repairs.

- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and renovations. You will assist in documenting work orders, tracking expenses, and generating reports as needed. Attention to detail and good organizational skills are important for effective record-keeping.
