Description: 

Our School, Istituto Comprensivo Margherita Hack, has an Eramus Accreditation since 2023. We are looking for a foreign language assistant in German for 6/8 months for next school year 2024/2025 (but any dates are suitable for us except summer months - the school remains closed in July and August and in June there are the final exams for the last classes of the lower secondary school. The duration of your stay is flexible depending on your needs). The amount of the hours per week depends on the timetable that we will have starting from September 2024 for the school year 2024/2025. We have lessons from 7:55 to 13:45 from Monday to Friday (two breaks: 09:45-09:55 and 11:40-11:50). Lunch is at 13:45. Our school goes from 3-14 years old, but German is taught only in the lower secondary school (pupils from 11 to 14 years old).  We look for Universities students who have just finished and want to practice abroad with their Erasmus. The school can help to find accomodation and offers the possibility of having lunch at the canteen from Monday to Friday.

  • Keep conversations with teachers and students, helping them to practice their speaking skills, specially pronunciation and intonation.

  • Introduce students to aspects of your culture through songs, games, activities and materials. 

  • Giving information of the language assistant country, to improve students’ linguistic skills.

  • Improving students’ comprehension and expression in German. Giving language support to the German teachers.

  • Accompanying students and teachers to school trips and free time activities.

  • Support German language classes (8 classes).

  • Contribute to cross curricular work in collaboration with other subject areas. 

  • The person is required to be a native speaker in German and speak and use this language with all German teachers. Knowledge of the italian language is also required in order to be able to communicate with the school community members at all times.

Additional Information

Our school is located about 40 km from Florence and one hour by train from Lucca and Pisa. Montemurlo is not very big, but you can find there everything you need (shops, restaurants, banks and so on). The local transport to Prato (the nearest city) are cheap and from Prato it is easy to reach by train all important cities located in Tuscany.
