Description: 

Concordia is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Technical Environmental Animator specializing in woodworking. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and facilitate environmental projects while contributing to youth development and international cultural exchange.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead woodworking projects during workcamps, ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to safety standards.
  2. Provide technical expertise and guidance to volunteers on woodworking techniques and project implementation.
  3. Supervise and mentor volunteers, fostering teamwork and skill development.
  4. Collaborate with project coordinators to plan and organize woodworking activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.
  5. Manage woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and safe usage.
  6. Promote environmental sustainability and conservation principles within project activities.
  7. Facilitate cultural exchange and intercultural learning among volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
  8. Uphold Concordia's values of inclusivity, respect, and community engagement throughout all activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated proficiency in woodworking techniques, with experience in carpentry, joinery, and/or woodcraft.
  2. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with volunteers and project stakeholders.
  3. Prior experience in environmental conservation or related fields is desirable.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
  5. Commitment to safety protocols and risk management procedures.
  6. Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and work in diverse cultural settings.
  7. Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is an asset.
  8. Passion for youth empowerment, international cooperation, and sustainable development.
