Travel Coordinator & Tour Guide Description

As a Travel Coordinator & Tour Guide, you will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all aspects of travel arrangements for clients. Your role will involve ensuring that all travel arrangements are made efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will work closely with clients, photographers, and transport agencies to ensure a smooth and hassle-free travel experience for our student community. Tour Guide should make sure everyone has a good time while learning about the history and culture of visited cities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and book travel arrangements for clients, including transportation, leisure visits, accommodation and other necessary arrangements.
  • Research and compare prices, availability, and quality of travel options to secure the best rates.
  • Maintain and update a database of clients, including all relevant information
  • Conduct guided tours of specific sites, landmarks, or attractions, providing visitors with detailed and accurate information about the history, culture, and significance of these locations.
  • Plan and organize tour itineraries, ensuring that they are well-paced, informative, and cater to everyone’s interests and needs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, answering questions, providing recommendations, and addressing any concerns they may have during the tour.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the tour group throughout the duration of the tour, providing clear instructions and guidelines to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest information and developments related to the tour location, including changes in operating hours, closures, or new exhibits, in order to provide accurate and relevant information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, going above and beyond to exceed visitor expectations and create a positive and memorable experience for all participants.
  • Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times, representing Erasmus@Cardiff in a positive light and promoting a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Handle any unexpected situations or disruptions during the tour, such as inclement weather or client emergencies, with calmness and professionalism.

  • Exceptional knowledge of the tour location, including its history, culture, landmarks, and attractions.

  • Proficiency in delivering information in an engaging and entertaining manner, using storytelling techniques, humor, and enthusiasm.

  • Time management and organizational skills to plan and execute tours efficiently, ensuring that all scheduled activities and destinations are covered within the allocated time frame.

  • Ability to handle large groups, manage crowd control, and maintain order and discipline throughout the tour.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the varying needs and preferences of visitors, adjusting the tour content or pace as required.
